Women Should Be Enraged By These Numbers
I am. Let’s do something about it.
--
In 2018, women earned 81.6 cents for every dollar and did two more hours of housework per day than their working male counterparts.
While women own about thirty percent of small businesses, they collected only 4.4% of small business loan money. And, within a household, women are more likely than men to take on the debt of their partner.
Cancer is diagnosed an average of 2.5 years later in women and diabetes is diagnosed an average of 4.5 years later in women.
It’s an understatement that these numbers are staggering and disheartening. And they will not change if we don’t do something about it. While society as a whole seems to be moving in the right direction, we could move a lot quicker.
Awareness is imperative. If there’s someone you know that needs to see these numbers, I encourage you to forward this to them. Or just tell them. Often, we can understand something in concept, but raw data drives any point home. It’s bad, friends. Let’s make it better.
